The streak is over

So far the accommodation choices have been first class. For 2 nights we have taken a step back. If we could get the tv to work properly I could forgive them, and at least having the heater on a million degrees did dry our clothes.

So after a sleep in a lumpy bed we hopped in the car and headed to the city of Liverpool. We did well and after missing parking station after parking station we finally found our way into one. We got to witness a good old Liverpudlian fight over a parking spot and made our way in the drizzle to the docks and The Beatles Experience. We had looked into every tour in town but almost 3 hours later came out of this museum knowing we had made the right choice. We searched for a pub and hoed into another pub lunch. I need a toasted cheese sandwich so bad. Then it was an effort trying to find our car park and then figure out how to get out of the city. Google Maps is just too slow by a bit so rerouting was always going on. To Penny Lane we drove and then to see a replica of the Strawberry Fields gate. Strawberry Fields,  nothing is real, seemed pretty much on the mark.

Since our Barcelona adventure I have fallen in love with the Decathlon stores. By the time we found Liverpool's, we had 40 minutes. Just enough time to spend 90 pounds. Then the guy on the register stuffs up and insists we haven't paid, even though I had signed the slip. With closing time looming he just told us to leave with our goods. I know that we have paid, as my Citibank balance was down from this morning.  Not sure he accepted this, but I wasn't leaving without my stuff. I guess I won't know for sure until after the Aussie bank holiday. Dinner was a home cooked affair of store purchases, heated up meals including some evil looking cookie dough cheese cake. I got a glimpse of my stomach in the mirror today. Not good.
