Getting my culture on

Amazingly we were only slightly late, or were we on time? I can't remember. We have seriously got our money's worth from the weekly metro pass. Of course, like the rest of Europe,  underground rail = lots of stairs. An uphill step should be worth 2.
First stop was the opera (Palais Garnier) and our guide made it entertaining. I have no idea how they could build these things. It kind of makes me want to go to the opera or ballet. Not.
Then it was off to Galeries Lafayette and Claire's secret place (the Printemps terrasse) for a spectacular view of Paris before lunch.
Arc de triomphe had some pretty amazing views of Paris.  A trip to a monument would not be complete without a dizzy walk up and down a spiral staircase.  My left knee has asked for a divorce.
Tonight we finally made use of the kitchen. Two minute  gnocchi and sauce were the heroes for dinner.
