I finally made my way down to the gym in order to work off some of the weight I have definitely put on.
Cereal in a coffee mug with frozen milk for breakfast was followed by a walk along the river.
We then made it to the Magnificent Mile, a stretch known for its shopping. We tried hard but didn't buy too much.
Macys was a bit of a bore but we had lunch there. I really needed some fries. They are so hard to come by.
We lobbed to the tower to have a look at the city but the clouds had come in. Something we will do tomorrow.
Then I did it again. In my quest for golf clubs, I took the map and headed off by myself. Meanwhile Annette quickly discovered an antique store that was having a closing down sale.
Had I been there it would not have mattered. I eagerly await to see what the exchange rate gods do with the large purchase.
All this while I was planning my last day purchases when I'm back here
for a day at the end of the holiday.
And so it was off to catch the train to U2. We hadn't eaten anything yet but figured there would be an abundance of choices near the United Centre. Wrong. It's in the middle of the suburbs.
So stadium food it was. If you think Sydney stadium prices are high, you should check these. The only difference being that the size of my 4 chicken strips could just have been the whole chook battered and crumbed. Not sure how I fitted in the tray of chips. Perhaps my stomach is stretching. Annette had the pulled pork sandwich and chips and failed to finish the chips.
To the concert due to begin at 730. Apparently that means 730 for an 830 start.
Not sure how to describe the concert but they redeemed themselves after Bono lost his voice 30 years ago when we saw them.
What a great show it was. It's up there with Springsteen, Joel, Dire Straits and Cougar/mellencamp/cougar mellancamp. It even rose above the heights of Jeff St John in front of 3 people at Cronulla Workers.
Bootleg copies will soon be available to fund the spending of Annette.
