Walking

I have noticed that when we walk, for the first 50 metres, sorry, yards, sorry, not 50 but an unknown amount, that I always take a lead and act as a sort of pacemaker.

Then today, all of a sudden, Annette and her aching feet were going at high speed.

We were on the way to markets. Flea markets to be precise. Never have quite figured out what the flea relates to.

The temperatures were up for the first time of the holidays but eventually we made it to what seemed like a small market area but in the end we were there a long time.

It was in brooklyn. I mention that as this is where Mr Kotter came back to. I hope you all get that song stuck in your heads like I did.

As with most markets, there were 2nd hand records where I spent my time. Not sure why I bought a Peter Frampton and a Lovin' Spoonful records and how I will get them home, but thats a problem for a few days time.

Annette was in her element and budgets will need to be revised.

As it heated up we shopped on and got some interesting Lemonade to get us through. One with maple syrup,(because I haven't been gulping it by the gallon on breakfast pancakes), and one with cucumber.

We have discovered that cucumber in fruit is quite an amazing thing. Further testing will be carried out.

From here we went to a more arty market where the monetary sins of the first market were multiplied. Nothing like loading up with heavy books and glass to make future travel interesting.

Back to the hotel via bus, i hit the gym for an uninspiring session before we headed off for Times square for a meal and a show.

It was absolutely packed. At Nizza, Annette had the clams and I had a flavourless pizza. I thought New York was famous for pizza. Maybe I'm wrong.

From there it was to the theatre. Yes the theatre to see Avenue Q. It's killing Annette to know if I liked it or not, but I must keep my poker face on.

We're pretty much running on empty at the moment. Had the hotel shuttle not have been at the station, then the 15 minute walk may just have killed us.
