Elvis

Because I mentioned that there was a waffle maker, I got blamed for Annette eating waffles for breakfast.

We left the hotel in search of a rare bus. It finally came and after 20 minutes alerted the driver we had missed our stop. He stopped. We made our way back to elvis presley bvd where we finally joined another bus to Graceland.

Picked up our tickets and caught another bus across the road to the mansion. Did the tour which was not what I expected but was really good. There was heaps to see over at Gracelands as well as back across the road. Gift shops for every exhibit and then some.

For the first time at such a tourist attraction, lunch was pretty good. They got the deep frying just right. Im not sure how long we were there but as we left , the old stomach started to rumble like Homer taking a cannon ball to the belly one too many times.

We made our way to what we hoped was a bus stop, as did the Swiss traveller there. Eventually a bus turned up and on board the swiss guy found out where to change buses for our continuation to Sun studios.

At the next bus stop we met a local who took a liking to my shoes. He really wanted them. Thank heavens for my tiny feet. In the 5 minutes there i think he may have told us his life story. He was homeless so Annette finally gave him a dollar. Then he has the hide to say that $1 wasn't enough. We quickly moved to the next bus stop up the road just in time for the next bus to arrive.

We made it to SunStudio and booked in for the4pm tour. That left only 14 minutes for Annette to get her sugar fix for the hour. The choice was strawberry milk shake. The tour was good for those who like real music.

On the way to the studio the weather had  started to look a bit like rain. During the hour touring a huge storm apparently hit. Footpaths and roads were flooded. The storm had caused chaos  in surrounding areas. Worse still, most of our tv channels weren't working.

We ended up walking back to the hotel as lightning flashed around.

Feeling guilty, I hit the gym in my new shoes. 20 minutes is better than nothing but I'm going to need a lot more than 20 minute sessions when this holiday is over.

Then it was off to Beale st and BB kings place. Live music, good food and a souvenir glass.....from Las Vegas. Excellent. Another piece of fragile luggage to add to our woes.

Stayed there ages. Long enough to buy both if the live bands cd's and then repacked a bit before crashing.

If not for the gallons of fresh lemonade being drunk, we may have lost the battle against the heat.
