One for the space cadets

When compared to holidays from the past, a 9am start time is an absolute luxury.
Off we went to the Space Center Houston, which is across the road from the Government facility we  first tried to get into. Two minutes later we were there for our edumacational day of the holiday.
In we went, hopped on the tram tour and visited the mock training centre, and the building housing what was a surprisingly monstrous rocket.
It is really quite impressive.
We checked out the insides of the 747 piggy backing the space shuttle, and then left with our IQs just a little bit higher.
To the Lonely Planet guide we went in search of food. It led us to a little place that demanded the consumption of chilli dog, curly fries and a burger.
It was now 330ish and the Museum of Something or other was having a free entry. They closed at 5pm. We found a parking spot in the street and made it to the Museum for an hour of what I am counting as culture. That is my quota for the holiday. I did get to see ..
I wish I was big.
A walk around the nearby park was called for, mainly so that we could get our money's worth at the parking meter.
Back home through the Houston traffic. There's nothing like coming onto a freeway on the right hand side and having to exit 30 seconds later via 6 lanes of packed traffic. Welcome to driving USA.
Back to home base, we opted for a meal with all of our vegies and chicken. Gotta eat healthy when you can, as I fear tomorrow may be bbq.
