Nothing like an early run to get you in the mood for a big breakfast. It also helped burn off a few of last night's chips. We headed for the town at a decent hour and walked down a really long hill giving us some great views. Of course all I could think about was how good it would be to run up this hill.
Bath is pretty much what I expect England to look like. Stone buildings everywhere.
To the Roman Baths we went, made even more attractive by a student discount for flashing my TAFE card. Pretty amazing place. Spoiler alert.....it was buried for 100s of years before being rediscovered. Unfortunately for me I didn't get a ticket to the fashion museum (unlike Annette) and had to settle for buying local chilli sauce and chilli ginger beer at a street market.
I do have a keen eye for the finer things in life and did suss out the whereabouts of a big sports store. We checked out some bridges, buildings, churches and a circus (no clowns) before the purchase of the obligatory running shoes while on holiday.
Asian for dinner I think before a bus ride back up the hill.
Oops, forgot we also went to Thermae Spa for a 2 hour steam, shower, hot pool, hotter pool, cool room type thing.
Pretty much the perfect day apart from not getting to do a Kate Bush and running up the hill.
