Bruce part 1

First stop for the day was the Soviet War Memorial.
This was followed by a trip to a local toilet near the station. Google reviews were not good, and the toilets were worse than the reviews. The smell was bad and then I couldn't get out, so had to take an extra breath. But they were free, so half a star.
Next stop was to a section of the Berlin wall that had been handed over to artists to do their thing. It was a long walk made longer by me taking photos the entire length. It's time to change my homescreen and that other screen on my phone. But which one?
On the way back we stopped at a food market and Lidl (a sort of Aldi) for some more substances to add to salad. We walked past the shop selling LSD and saw our second drug deal.
We got back at 2:30, did washing, ate lunch, had a rest, ate dinner at 5 and left for the concert at 5:30 (at Olympiastadion Berlin).
It took maybe 30 minutes to get in (security and ticket check through skinny turnstiles), more time to spend the children's inheritance on clothes, more time for someone to go to the toilet, more time as we went to the wrong entrance, and we missed the first minute, although by my watch it was 6:59.
Although we were a long way away, Bruce always puts on a good show. (Editor's note: Bruce was fabulous!)
The way back through the large crowds was pretty good, we guessed a train, thought it was wrong, but couldn't get off in time. Some locals looked it up and the train was actually right. Woohoo, at last!
They found out all about our holiday, were happy that Bruce played some newer stuff to start the concert as they were 40 minutes late (they expected a support act, which Bruce doesn't have because his concerts already go for 3 hours) and glad they hadn't missed Streets of Philadelphia (which he didn't play).
So far, it seems the only thing coming out of East Berlin of any worth is the walk and don't walk signs. Annette may add some details here: These are the East German Ampelmännchen. East and West Berlin had different symbols but chose the East German ones when Berlin unified.
