to Budapest

After breakfast, Annette went to an art gallery whilst I went to Aldi, or Hofer as it's called sometimes in these parts (there is a definite trend) going on.
We had plenty of time after to check out, store luggage and check out the local park. Our train to Budapest left at 1:27pm. What could possibly go wrong? We got a message  saying the train was now leaving at 1:42. We also found a message giving us access to the rail company's lounge. By the time we found the lounge and couldn't get in as the scanner wasn't letting us in, it was time to head to platform 10.
The train arrived, people were getting on, we couldn't find seats 31 and 32 just 31 and 33, Annette went in search of help and I put our luggage on the racks.
Then she came back with the news that we were on the wrong train. I took the bags and we headed to platform 4 (via the end of the station without escalators). Luckily we got there in time, just.
We got on the carriage at the opposite end to our seats and by the time we made them, most luggage storage had gone. I had enough energy to lift my bag Into overhead racks and squeezed Annette's into a half space.
We had a seat with a table facing 2 others. His phone had run out of battery and she was from NZ. Annette lent him her power bank and it really confused him.
Next stop Budapest Deli. But there was another Budapest stop before. People were asking us if the other stop was where they got off. We told them probably not. Some stayed, some got off. You should always listen to people who got on the wrong train as there is less chance they will make another train blunder.
We couldn't book an Uber and the Taxis would only take local money that we didn't have, so we walked 30 minutes to our apartment.
Once we found it, and cracked the security door to get in, we found "the lift". It was small, old and as we found, probably not strong  enough to get us and our luggage to the 4th level.
We almost made it but the door would not open. After thinking that this is where we would die, we went back to the ground and tried again. This time we got enough momentum to make it.
We got our key, unlocked 2 doors and arrived at our apartment overlooking the Danube.
The reason for staying in self catering places was to save on the ridiculous price of restaurant food in Europe.
We walked to Aldi, stocked up and headed back for an excellent pasta and salad meal with ice cream. We will eat out on the last night as I guess I have to have goulash in Hungary.
What was supposed to be a restful day turned out not to be. My back is not happy. Hopefully a good sleep with a weirdly shaped European pillow will help.
